My Favorites of 2023

I’m very lucky that writing about my favorite books of 2023 is really easy. I read a lot of high quality books this year. I don’t know if I can attribute that to not worrying about a number goal or following so many book podcasts, but it makes me happy.

Or maybe it’s the fact that I let myself say no. If I didn’t like a book I was reading, I was not reluctant to DNF it like I have been in the past. In fact, I DNFed 11 books! That is huge for me.

So here they are, my favorite books of 2023, in no particular order.

*Drum roll please*

I’ve talked about this books in many places. Just read it- it’s hilarious and it will make you think.

I willing to bet almost every millennial has read The Great Gatsby in high school. This is told through the eyes of the women of the book, even one we don’t really hear from in the OG story. Cantor delves into what woman have to give up and the faces we put on in order to survive.
